Join us for a volunteer day, beginning at 9:30 on Saturday,10/4, in a seldom-visited section of the Yellow Dog Community Forest, where we are engaged in a DNR funded forestry-for-wildlife project. Throughout the spring and summer, with the help of hard-working volunteers, we planted fruit trees and shrubs as well as pollenator plants and grasses, built brush shelters, and removed invasive plants. In our final work day of the season, we will plant nut trees and evergreens that prefer to be moved in the fall (white oak, hickory, and hemlock). Please wear durable clothing and shoes, pack work gloves, and bring lunch/snacks and a water bottle. We will access the site from 605 Remington Rd (County Road KCH), off County Road 550 in Powell Township. Go down the driveway about 1/4 mile, and you'll find us!
