On August 10th, the Yellow Dog Watershed Preserve will host “Deer Camps to Grand Camps” – an event  featuring a slideshow by photo historian Jack Deo. Deo will share some of the greatest and funniest photos from his 40 year collection of regional classic deer camps. The latter part of the show will highlight the “Grand Camps” of Marquette County, including Cyrus McCormick’s White Deer Lake, cabins at the Huron Mountain Club, and color photos of Granot Loma Lodge that have never been shown.

The evening will begin with a friend-raising social hour on the Inn’s porch overlooking Lake Independence from 5:30 – 7:00, featuring a cash wine bar and light hors d’oeuvres. At 7pm, the featured slideshow will begin with Jack Deo. YDWP welcomes all who love the watershed and its history to enjoy the images of the past as we aspire to create a bright future.

Tickets for the event are $15. Seating is limited and tickets can be purchased in advance at the Thunder Bay Inn or Big Bay Outfitters. For any questions related to tickets, call (906) 250 5545.
