Dedication on World Water Day 2023

Mahayana Buddhism compares positive action to a drop of water. For whatever immediate purpose one performs the action, when dedicated to the benefit of all living beings, it flows into a great ocean of merit that can never be exhausted. If such a dedication is not made, the effect will evaporate once the action is completed.

World Water Day provides the opportunity to dedicate all we do on behalf of the Yellow Dog Watershed to those lacking our abundance of clean, fresh water. It reminds us of the millions around the world facing shortages, contamination, and poor sanitation, as well as the importance of conserving this essential building block of life wherever we are. The Yellow Dog Watershed Preserve honors World Water Day, reaffirming our commitment to preserving the Yellow Dog Watershed in its most natural state for use of the public now, and for the benefit of future generations.
